Photo exhibition to feature historic Hanoi bridge

Seventy portrayals of the historic Long Bien Bridge by French artist Dominique de Miscault will be on show at a photo exhibition that opens in Hanoi on March 6.

The “Long Bien – A Bridge of Dreams” exhibition reflects the passion of a foreign artist who has lived and worked in Vietnam for 18 years.

The exhibition at the Maison des Arts (House of the Arts) at 31A Van Mieu Street will run until March 16.

Miscault, a painter, a sculptor and installation artist, is a member of the Vietnam-France Friendship Association.

Since 1969, she has held hundreds of exhibitions in France, Russia, Vietnam and Europe.

Long Bien Bridge was designed by French architect Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the world-famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. The bridge, which crosses the Red River to connect two parts of Hanoi, was one of the four biggest bridges in the world when it was built in 1902.

The bridge is regarded as a symbol that connects the past and the present to create an “immortal” Hanoi.
