Food laboratory opens in HCMC

Germany’s TÜV Rheinland Group on Friday opened a US$1.5 million food testing laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City.

The company said the laboratory, the most well-equipped laboratory of its kind in Vietnam, would help the domestic food industry meet international requirements without the expense of sending samples overseas for testing.

The laboratory, in Quang Trung Software Park, will be able to test seafood, canned food, drinks, cosmetics, and animal feed and agricultural products such as tea, coffee and cereal.

TUV Rheinland Group already has chemical and furniture laboratories in HCMC’s District 12.
